Our Ciders

Listed as one of the world’s best ciders. We take an apple-centered approach to cider making. The aim of our technique is to bring out the best of each year’s harvest. Utilizing both tradition and the cutting edge, Castle Hill Cider strives to bring you the highest quality and most enjoyable ciders. From fermenting the Levity in buried kvevri, the world’s oldest known fermentation vessels, to arresting fermentation of the Serendipity with cross flow filtration; from working with growers of varieties truly suited to cider, to renovating an 80 year old orchard, we strive to bring you the best cider to share with meals, friends, and relaxing moments.  Click for a list of where to find our ciders outside of our tasting room.

In 1764, Castle Hill opened its doors, hosting over the years an array of creative minds, from dignitaries and politicians to explorers and novelists. Today, its creative legacy continues with artisan cider makers handcrafting cider on the property. Castle Hill’s doors are now open to anyone wishing to experience its natural beauty, deep history, and the cider that proudly bears its name.

Wedding & Venues

Make History at One of Virginia’s Most Romantic Settings. A young Thomas Jefferson once played here. Now it’s your turn to be part of history at Keswick’s oldest estate. Located just miles from Charlottesville, Castle Hill Cider’s historic outdoor and striking indoor venues offer endless possibilities—from the intimate to the incredible.

An 11,000 square foot, pole barn that offers a year-round party venue, with 30 tons of heating and air conditioning to keep guests comfortable. Ample room for seated receptions that can spill onto terraced lawns with 360 degree, exquisite views.
For intimate gatherings, like cocktail parties, buffet luncheons and business meetings. Stay inside by the stately, wood-burning stone fireplace. Or head out the French doors to the octagonal porch, offering magnificent views.
With a wood-burning stone fireplace and spectacular views just beyond French doors, this Library makes you want to get comfortable with a cider. For brides, the room transforms into a gathering place to get ready with attendants before the festivities begin.
Floating above the center of the Barn, our 3,000 square foot loft offers an unexpected event space. Impressive double doors flood the area with light and air.

European Lindens were originally planted in an oval to form a horse racetrack. Today, these mature trees create a natural shelter ideal for outdoor gatherings and photo opportunities.
Framed by the Blue Ridge Mountains, this setting is just right for open-air celebrations—and those interested in seeing where our ciders truly begin. Late afternoon weddings witness sunsets that never disappoint.
Terraced, manicured lawns are bordered by cherry trees and wisteria arbors. Perfect for a game of bocce, the exchanging of wedding vows, or simply an afternoon stroll.
A natural mirror, this shimmering lake reflects the emerald landscape by day—and the twinkling barn lights at night.
